The Shinkyokushin Red Label Karate Gi is the perfect choice for the beginning karateka and children. Low weight cotton causes the karate suit to tear faster, therefore Ichiban MAE’s karate suits start at 8 oz cotton. This is a strong fabric, yet maximally flexible for unhindered movement. Only 100% high-quality cotton keeps you cool and dry, so in Ichiban MAE’s Dogis you won’t find synthetic materials like in cheap karate suits. The 8 oz pants offers unrestricted movement. For easy changing, junior sizes (up to 150 cm) have an elastic waist with drawstring closure at the front. Larger sizes have a traditional lace fastening at the hips. A belt is not included (optional).

Material and color
The karate suit is made of 100% cotton. Our Gis are produced in ecru (unbleached cotton) as standard. Ecru becomes lighter in color with frequent use and washing. This gives the suit a natural and authentic look. At Ichiban MAE you have the option to have the suit made in a custom color. For a color of your choice, select ‘Custom’ in the menu. Our designers will contact you to discuss your wishes.

Kanji embroidery
A kanji is embroidered on the chest. The standard color is dark blue. According to your wishes we can deliver a custom color. For a color of your choice, select ‘Custom’ in the menu. Our designers will contact you to discuss your color wishes. You don’t want a kanji embroidery? Then choose the option ‘Blanco’.

Sleeves
Our Shinkyokushin karate suits come standard with a shorter sleeve. For specific wishes, please contact us.

Need to know
Ichiban MAE karate suits are, according to Japanese principles, made of 100% cotton. A characteristic of cotton is shrinkage during the first few washes. Please take this into account when purchasing a karate Gi. An unwashed karate Gi is larger but will fit perfectly after washing. Also, folding sleeves and pant legs is not uncommon in martial arts.
