The Ichiban MAE Red Belt
The Ichiban MAE graduation belts are designed according to Japanese principles and are therefore made of 100% cotton. The belt consists of a core of cotton surrounded by red cotton. The layers are stitched with eight lanes of ultra strong polyester thread. This combination makes the belt sufficiently flexible, but stiff enough to allow the ends to stick out of the knot in a stylish way. The belt has a standard width of 4 centimeters and is finished with stitched ends. Upon request, we can provide the red belt in a heavier model (like our black belts).

Material and color
The Red Belt is made of three layers of high-quality cotton in the color red.

Need to know
Our martial arts belt is made of cotton. With frequent use, the belt gets a somewhat rough / sanded look. This is a typically feature of the professional cotton martial arts belt and distinctive from cheap synthetic belts.

Washing advice
We do not recommend washing the belt as it is made of 100% cotton and some shrinkage may occur (up to 8%). Use a lint roller to remove dirt and dust. Clear adhesive tape is ideal for stubborn stains. Regular airing keeps the budo belt fresh. In the unforeseen event that the belt must be washed, wash it on a gentle laundry program and at a low temperature. After washing, stretch the belt to it’s original length and let it dry in this way, for example by stretching it around a chair with pegs. Note: Do not tumble dry!
